Arlene Ashcraft has been engaged in business appraisals since 2005. She specializes in ESOP valuation and financial advisory services, estate and gift tax valuations, and appraisal assignments for litigation support purposes. Ms. Ashcraft has performed appraisals across many industry sectors and has extensive experience in the engineering/consulting and forest product industries.
Prior to joining Columbia Financial Advisors, Inc. in 2005, Ms. Ashcraft was a contracted Associate Consultant with Silver Oak Solutions which offered procurement advisory services.
Ms. Ashcraft is an Accredited Senior Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers designated in Business Valuation, and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. She is past President and past Treasurer of the American Society of Appraisers Portland, Oregon Chapter and past Editor of the American Society of Appraisers Business Valuation E-Letter. She is a current member and Vice Chair of the Board of Examiners of the American Society of Appraisers Business Valuation Committee. Ms. Ashcraft earned her Master of Business Administration from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University. She is a member of The ESOP Association, The ESOP Association’s Valuation Advisory Committee, the CFA Institute, and the CFA Society of Portland. She also served (2013-2015) on the Board of Directors of DKS Associates, a 100% ESOP owned transportation planning and engineering firm, headquartered in Oakland, CA, as chairman of the Audit Committee. Ms. Ashcraft routinely speaks on ESOP valuation issues at conferences and webinars sponsored by the National Center for Employee Ownership and The ESOP Association, as well as other groups on various appraisal topics (marital dissolution and gift and estate tax).
Ms. Ashcraft’s appraisal experience stems from her tenure at Columbia Financial Advisors, Inc. as a Principal responsible for individual client engagements and case management and all aspects of appraisal projects. Ms. Ashcraft’s appraisal experience includes engagements for a variety of purposes including annual ESOP appraisal engagements and transactions, gift and estate tax, and litigation support.
